Enjoy reading our tips and recommendations. The CEO behind eHarmony is evil. Someone signed up with my info. The company did not care to refund, even though I immediately contacted them. PayPal took their side as well. Such a fraud company taking advantage of others with huge unknown charges. I called PayPal again - finally received my full refund. Are they kidding me?? This was a fraud transaction. Now I see others are getting scanned too by this company. People are being scammed by this company.

Get your money back! This company needs to be shut down for fraud transactions. eHarmony is a scam. They do not have the quality or quantity of matches you would expect from a pay dating site. Honestly, the free ones like OKcupid or Bumble are much better. They do not let you quit the service and they try to pursue the entire term of payment whether it be 3 months or 6 months. I had to cancel my credit card and I explained I wasn't going to pay for a service that doesn't provide what it says it will.

They plan on referring the disputed amount to a credit collection company. I'm not paying them. They insist they are a good dating site. It may have been good at one time. Not anymore. What a scam. I signed up for a 1 month free trial. They charged me for that month and for 3 months since. I tried to contact them via 3 of their phone numbers they do not work. Email does not work. Eharmony sucks!

Take my hard earned money and f::c;k me for it and want more. thanks for making me feel raped. I had no intention of renewing with Eharmony.

I was confident at renewal they could not charge my account since the account was closed. I stopped going to Eharmony months ago because the amount of scammers that contacted me and then Eharmony sent emails saying, sorry we have cancelled that person for security reasons. Big waste of time. The Itunes charge on my bank account has no reference to Eharmony. I spent 45 minutes arguing with Eharmony that I did not but my subscription through Apple iTunes, I explained I had to use their service for access to their app.

I told them at no time was I notified of a renewal by anyone and expected a refund. They said I had to call Apple for a refund. Eharmony also explained to me that Apple sets their own prices for their subscription which Apple denied. I asked to speak to an Eharmony supervisor and was denied the opportunity to express how shocked I was to see a charge for their service on Itunes.

Basically, Eharmony is a scam and is now ISO g apple iTunes to basically get their money with no actual accountability. I was completely honest in my answers. Most people are afraid to die alone. And these sites prey on that fear. Online dating sites always have two levels of membership.

Their priority is to get the unpaid members to become paying members. Their next priority is to keep the paying members from leaving. In order to get non-paying members to become paying members they are known to create fake profiles and responses making the non-paying member join up since they cannot respond to this supposedly interested person without becoming a paying member. These fake profiles are also useful for member who are not finding interested people and may consider leaving.

The fake profiles are helpful for retaining paying members and for getting their non-paying members to join as paying members. In addition, the major players such as e-harmony are buying up their competition including online personal sections of newspaper sites that originally offered free online dating ads. They cannot compete against the free online dating sites so they just buy them out.

Like e-harmony, many other online dating sites have been accused of creating fake profiles in order to lure people to join as paying members. E-harmony has also been accused of rejecting men who are shorter than a certain height and just claiming that their questionnaire indicated that they are not suitable for relationships because many women members complained that they were matched with too many short men.

They all are scams but given that so many people are wiling to pay to possibly meet someone, they are making money. There are many people who gave up on online dating realizing that it is all a scam.

Look at women who are not as physically attractive as the average female. They are in a position where they need to post a photo to get more looks on their profile but doing so will also hurt their chances just as much as a guy who is short ruins his chances by being required to reveal his height. I was cancelled out by them for no reason. They took my money after I joined for a year, and now I have to fight to get it back.

Complete bullshit and fraud. Talk about taking advantage of the lonely. Here it is and most if not ALL dating sites are bullshit. Yet the so called department of regulation, feds, consumer affairs, yada let them continue to operate. Growing familiar with meeting people online is great as long as you know the risks and flaws of online dating, and as long as you are taking safety measures. Professional investigators conduct dating background checks to help internet users verify individuals they meet on online dating and social media websites.

If your perfect match says he or she went to school here, works at this company, lives here, etc, investigators verify all this information. In the last few months, authorities from different parts of the world have been taking action to control online romance scams because the amount of losses and reports have demonstrated that the situation is completely out of control.

Add to the picture that this is a global issue, and that many of the victims never report their losses, and you´ll understand the dimensions of this problem. Investigators estimate that only 1 out of 10 scam victims report the crime to authorities.

There are two main reasons why online love scams have expanded so much. The first one is that scammers are getting good at what they do, and they are more organized than ever.

Avoiding dating scams is not always easy. From the girl who poses for the pictures, to the cashier on the money wiring service. They pick their targets with a lot of precision, they have experience playing with people´s minds and feelings, and they have the right contacts.

Fake profiles are created to match exactly what you are looking for, and the criminal proceeds to slowly gain your trust. Even the most skeptical and computer savvy can be a victim. The second reason is that victims are also letting this happen. People share too much information online, which gives con artists and criminals a good idea of who may be one of their prospects.

Anyone who meets someone online needs to understand the risks, and any online profile can be easily created using false information. Think you can verify the individual on your own?

Los Angeles-based eharmony launched in the United States in with its patented Compatibility Matching System® which allows eharmony members to be matched with compatible persons with whom they are likely to enjoy a long-term relationship.

The only way to stop them from charging was going to my Credit Card Company and disputing the charges. Do not use this site. So I was catfished and kidnapped for two weeks meeting someone through this site.

Not only THAT! But am still being charged after I had canceled after only using it for one week. So I decided to create a profile.

Plenty of Fish and OKCupid allow you like 10, characters to say everything about yourself that you want, so I was really surprised that eHarmony only allows characters.

Their profile header is "tell us about yourself and what you want". I need to tell you all that in just characters?? So I tried my best to make bullet points, but the site doesn't allow you to display things in paragraph form, so when I was done I came back and all my bullet points were mashed up together. Some of the sample matches blurred out of course were already 5 hours drive away from me. Kind of amazed they're this bad, given how much they advertise and how well known they are.

Plenty of Fish and OKCupid are completely free POF even allows livestreaming , and allow so much more. Signed up in error for a 1-year membership! All they care about is the money!!! They confirmed ALSO that my account will be deleted in 10 days. Is it normal for people to accept money for services not rendered? Uhmmmm, NO!!!! Please, unless you just truly want to throw away your money, AVOID EHARMONY LIKE THE PLAGUE! Their terms are inflexible…only death and disability basically warrant a refund!!!

This is hands down the WORST decision I have ever made!!! Totally uncaring!!!! Run, run…. Eharmony is the worst! They only offer 6 month, 12 month or 24 month subscriptions, which are EXTREMELY overpriced. why only offer such long subscriptions? What happens if you meet someone in month one? Eharmony is a SCAM! I expected the matches to be better due to the long questionnaire at startup.

However, all my matches have been OPPOSITE of what I am looking for! Also, the features are substandard to the other apps. You can only sort by distance in 15 mi increments; with other apps you can go by 1 mile. Also, after contacting support only via email fyi and more than 48 hours to respond , I was still unable to get a refund.

AND, I was being harassed by one of my matches and when I reported to eharmony, they took 4 days to respond! What if the match had somehow found me in person or via internet and continued to harass me after I blocked them? What a joke. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS SCAM!

When you sign up there's no way to: view unblurred pictures, views messages, filter by distance, or sign up for premium anything under 6 months. Why would I spend my money if I can't even see the quality on here?!?? Theirs is a terribly designed business. No wonder they are rapidly losing market share. Steer clear, you'll have more success with other dating apps.

eHarmony is the largest dating site geared specifically towards long-term relationships and marriage minded singles.

They claim to be responsible for over new marriages every day in the US. In-depth entry questionnaire: eHarmony asks all of its members a little more than multiple choice questions before allowing them to enter into their ranks.

This in-depth questionnaire is geared at giving the site enough information to help provide you with qualified potential matches. No Searching: In sharp contrast to other dating sites, eHarmony does not allow members to search directly for matches.

Instead, it uses the answers from the questionnaire to provide you with a selection of daily matches that should be compatible with your needs and desires in a partner. Guided Communication: Instead of sending off an email or wink like you would do on most sites, eHarmony takes members through 4 steps of guided communication before allowing you to continue with open communication with a new match.

The guided communication is designed to help assure compatibility and that you don't waste energy on bad matches.
